Al-Fatiha Free Essays

AL-FATIHA:The essential exacting significance of the articulation â€Å"al-Fati?ah† is â€Å"The Opener,† which could allude to this Surah being â€Å"the opener of the Book. It is the main part (surah) of the Quran. Its seven verses (ayat) are a petition for the direction, lordship and benevolence of God. We will write a custom essay sample on Al-Fatiha or any similar topic only for you Order Now This section has a basic part in Islamic supplication(prayer). It is also known as †mother of the book†. It is the Mecci Surah of the Holy Quran . THEME:Allah has taught in this Surah to mankind to offer prayer to Him, who is the Lord of this universe before seeking guidance and Who alone can grant it. The reader should have a firm belief that the Creator of the universe is the source of all knowledge and the study of Quran can provide him guidance. Islam requires a man to begin everything with the name of Allah. By doing this he will keep himself far from detestable and wrong deeds. knowledge and the study of Quran can provide him guidance. Allah is the Master, Owner, Sustainer, Provider, Guardian, Sovereign, Ruler, Administrator, Organizer and master of day of judgement and we are answerable to him. VIRTUES:There are numerous ethics related with this Surah. Hazrat Abu Saeed al-Khudri describes: â€Å"While on a voyage we stopped at a place. A young lady came to us and stated: â€Å"The head of this clan has been stung by a scorpion and our men are absent, is there anyone among you who can recount something upon him to treat him?† Then, one of our men obliged her despite the fact that we didn’t believe that he knew any such treatment. In any case, our companion went to the boss and discussed something upon him and the boss was cured. Immediately, the boss gave him thirty sheep and gave every one of us drain to drink. When he returned, we asked our companion: â€Å"Did you know anything to present upon him to cure him?† He stated: â€Å"No, I just recounted Umm al-Kitab (i.e. Surah Al-Fatihah) upon him.† We said that don’t do anything until the point when we achieve Madinah and ask the Prophet with respect to this (hone and rewardwhether the sheep were legitimate or not for us). TAFSSER:In the Name of Allah: The first ayah of the Surah Al-Fatihah is: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful. This phrase is known as the bismillah. It is good to recite it before doing any action. The Meaning of the letter Baa The Baa in the Arabic dialect can have three unique implications: With – With/for the sake of Allah. Seeking help – Seeking assistance from the name of Allah. Seeking favoring – Seeking favoring with the name of Allah. The Meaning of al-Rahman and al-Raheem Both these names are gotten from a similar root letters: raa, haa, meem; which intends to show kindness. They are hence comparable in significance and both are associated with Allah’s (SWT) Mercy. The way that Allah (SWT) notices two of His Names which show to do with Mercy, as opposed to Might and Power or so on, demonstrates exactly how critical this Attribute is. The distinction between al-Rahman and al-Raheem is that al-Rahman alludes to Allah’s (SWT) Mercy to all of creation. It is His Mercy which is stretched out to the two devotees and skeptics; creatures, and everything that exists. All Praise is due to Allah The second ayah is: All praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. The Meaning of Hamd and the Difference between Hamd and Shukr :Hamd means praise and also thankfulness. Shukr is done with the tongue, the limbs and the heart; whereas hamd is done with the tongue only. It is also said that hamd is more general than shukr. In hamd, it contains the meaning of shukr (thankfulness) as well as madh (praise). The Meaning of Rabb Rabb is usually translated as Lord but it is much more encompassing than that. It also includes the meaning of Nurturer, Sustainer, Cherisher and so on. The Rabb is the creator, king, master and the one who controls everything. The Meaning of ‘Aalameen:Some of the differing views about it are that it refers to: Everything which exists other than Allah ta’ala Mankind and the jinn Those things which have an intellect, and they are four: mankind, jinn, angels, and devils Those species which have souls The best view is the first one. The Beneficent, The Most Merciful: The third ayah is: The Beneficent, The Most Merciful. (Al-Fatihah: 3) The explanation of these two names has already been given. Why then is it repeated? This is to once again emphasis the importance of the quality of mercy. Master of the Day of Reward: The fourth ayah is: The Only Owner of the Day of Recompense. (Al-Fatihah: 3) The Meaning of Maalik : Malik means king, and it refers to â€Å"mulk† – the dominion of a person. He will judge us all, that He is so absolutely powerful, that on the Day of Judgement no one will have the power either to resist the enforcement of punishments. You (Alone) We Worship: The fifth ayah is: You (alone) we worship and You (alone) we ask for help.†We Worship† implies we comply. Love is acquiescence and self-dishonor. It intends to lower yourself before Allah (SWT) and to submit to His Will. Apparently it is self-dishonor, yet as a general rule, it is brilliance and beautification. This ayah asserts the Lordship of Allah and confirms that love is because of Him.Guide us on the Straight Path:The sixth ayah is: Guide us on the Straight Path. This ayah is a dua which we make to Allah (SWT). We ask Him to show us the Straight Path and to guide us on it, so that we will get His Guidance which draws us closer and nearer to Him. The Meaning of Sirat:Sirat is a road or a path. There are conditions that it must be straight. It must reach the goal and it must be the shortest route to get there. It must also be wide and spacious enough for everyone who wants to travel it. The Meaning of Mustaqeem:Mustaqeem is derived from istaqaama, which means to be straight, upright, correct. The Path of Those†¦:The seventh and final ayah is: The path of those you have blessed, not of those with anger on them, nor of those who are astray†. Who are the people who have been blessed by Allah (SWT) and whose Path we ask to guide to? This is explained by Allah (SWT) in another ayah where He says: Whosoever obeys Allah, and the Messenger, they are with those whom Allah SWT) has favored, the Prophets (AS), the sincere, the martyrs and the righteous, and these are the best company. Impact of surah on Muslim lives:This surah Is one of the most important surahs of Quran. A Muslim needs to recite it in every prayer 5 times a day. If a Muslim follows it to its core their lives ill become easy. This surah explains us how merciful and kind Allah Almighty is and he is the only one to worship and seek help from.If we understand it and apply in our lives then we will lead true and right life, as we will know we are answerable to God on the day of judgement then we may try to restrain from evil deeds and activities. We will always speak truth no matter what because we are only afraid of Allah and on one else. This is a dua we make everyday and so it will protect us and surely and will show us right path. Tony Liang Essays (764 words) - Demography, Demographics

Tony Liang Prof. Landau English 1A-76 15 September 2015 Millennials Just Need a Chance: A Profile For California State Assembly The future generation of America is here! Millennials, ranging from age 18 to 33, are gradually making their way to adulthood. This distinctive group is by far the most educated, diverse, ambitious, and optimistic to step foot on American soil. Likewise, this generation is also the first in two generations to experience higher levels of student debt, unemployment, and poverty. Millennials are also referred to as "digital natives" by the older generation. Their obsession with the internet upon their finger-tips inevitably makes them too reliant on technology in their everyday lives. Although Millennials are dependent on technology, they are profoundly intelligent and are eager to secure a successful future, therefore they should be given a work-study grant as an opportunity to access higher education and a head-start in their financial future. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" (Mandela). Millennials today are the most educated and ambitious generation of all time. A whooping 34% of the population have at least a bachelor's degree. However, in recent years, the level of student loan debts has grown exponentially. About 69% of recent college graduates had taken out loans to pay for their education, and many struggle to find in their intended field. According to PEW research center, the average amount of cumulative student debt for their undergraduate education increased from $12,434 for the class of 1992-93 to $26,885 for the class of 2011-12 after adjusting for 2 inflation. It is not just students from low income families that are taking out loans; students from higher income homes saw a faster increase in borrowing. The goal of pursuing higher education is to enable people to contribute to society and push for economic growth, not burying them in a mountain of debt. The effects of the 2008 financial crisis still persist and exacerbated the problem. PEW research found that Millennials are low on social trust; however, they are optimistic about the future. When asked, "Generally speaking, would you say that most people can be trusted or that you can't be too careful in dealing with people," only 19% of Millennials say most people can be trusted, compared with 31% of Silent and 40% of Boomers according to PEW Research Center. The reason for such low levels of trust for their peers is because Millennials are increasingly comprised of minority groups and face greater economic hardships. Median income for today's Millennials are about $35,000 , which is essentially the same as the early Boomers generation in 1979. Also, painfully slow recovery from the 2008 recession hit the experience-lacking Millennials especially hard compared to older generations with more working-experience. The average span it takes for a Millennial actively seeking employment is 27 weeks, which is more than double the amount of time it took for the early Boomers generation. Despite all of this, Millennials are by the most optimistic generation about the future of this nation. Pew Research found that eight in ten say they can make enough money in the future to live the lives they desire. This generation is battle-hardened; after all, they were the first in four generations to experience a major depression. Positive mentality and work ethics is vital 3 for steering this country back on track. Work-study is the perfect opportunity for them to become a team player by engaging in community projects and learn to trust others while giving back to their community. This generation is caught in the midst of an economic and social shift. The economic problems ahead are daunting; but with the support they need, Millennials are capable of making a positive change in our society. Works Cited Millennials in Adulthood. Pyschology - Aversive Control essays

Pyschology - Aversive Control essays The way in which parents choose to deal with their children plays an important role in the personality they will develop, and the way they handle their own kids. Ive observed several tactics that my aunt uses with her kids and deduced several conclusions from my examination. Generally, problems are initiated over fighting between her two children. She almost always responds to their fighting with a shrill scream of disapproval. Thus, creating an uncomfortable, almost hostile environment in an attempt to stop the children from fighting. The kids immediately try to defend their side of the story as to why the fight began in order to 1) justify their negative behavior and 2) prevent my aunt from being mad at them. My aunt typically becomes so overwhelmed with the bombardment of account and shouting, that she herself screams even louder- threatening the children with the suggestion that they will be sent to their rooms if they dont stop. Consequently, the children have a tendency to cry and receive sympathy from my aunt. Now there are several concepts that can be taken out of this situation and analyzed- the first being the effects of aversive stimuli when dealing with reprimanding children. My aunts screaming to attempt to paralyze the fighting was an aversive stimuli that tells the children, if we dont want to hear her yell anymore, we should stop fighting. Next, she uses a threat of punishment as an aversive stimuli that tells the kids, we should stop arguing, if we want to avoid this punishment. The children respond by crying, an aversive stimuli that causes my aunt to retract her threat and attempt to comfort the children. The main problem with this type of behavior is that no progress is really made. It simply creates a pattern where the kids know how to escape a bad situation. Yes, for the moment it stops the fighting and arguing, but the kids never learn to properly deal w...

Strategic and Tactical Management Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Strategic and Tactical Management - Essay Example Everyone in the company should strive for the attainment of organizational vision. Lastly, two important things are stressed by Thomson and Strickland (2001), formulation of a good strategy and executing it most efficiently. Truly, strategic management is nothing if leaders cannot come up with a good strategy. Also, no matter how good a strategy is, if not executed efficiently then the company is still bound to fail. Tactical management is the company's "ability to quickly and accurately assess the situation and respond appropriately" (Thomson and Strickland 2001). As with strategic management it measures the company's responsiveness to the internal and external factors where it operates. However, tactical management's role is to minimize risk and maximizing returns for the business organization in a day to day basis. Thus, best practices will include a key understanding of the interrelatedness of economic variables which can determine the risks and opportunities that the company faces. Also, companies should always be responsive to changes by evaluating the alternative responses that it can implement. Being open to change and the need of technological advances in tactical management can also improve this process in a business organization. Toyota has communicated its goal of becoming the largest automaker in the world surpassing the giant General Motors.

The entry strategy mode for NEXT to Expand into China Essay

The entry strategy mode for NEXT to Expand into China - Essay Example Their sufficient answers equipped me with in-depth knowledge and better understanding of NEXT Plc, the fashion industry, and the Chinese clothing market. Their shared knowledge enabled me to critically analyse the issue in consideration. NEXT Plc is the UK third-largest clothing retailer operating through 400 retail stores across the UK and Ireland, more than 50 stores in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_plc). It is a prominent retailer, whose strategy is aimed at capturing new markets through global expansion. This research project investigates the current literature on the internationalisation process and reviews alternative modes of market entry strategy. Various primary and secondary sources provide the necessary data to sufficiently asses the internal health and the external market of NEXT PLC. These data are then carefully analysed in order to gauge the company's capability to expand internationally. Alternative expansion options are evaluated and recommended for the company's successful expansion into the Chinese market. The research concludes that the Chinese market is a fertile ground for the expansion of a foreign apparel retailer. However, the existence of various environmental, industry specific-forces, and the current resources limitations of the Inditex group, requires the establishment and employment of an optimal expansion strategy. It should be noted that due to certain limitations imposed by environmental and internal factors, the findings of this research cannot be utilized in terms of all market expansions, although they can be amply used as an example for further theory building in the area related to the Chinese market entry and expansion strategies. Table of Contents 1.1 Background to Study The rapid growth of the textile industry in China which is facilitated by the continuous economic reforms, improving living standards, and increasing demand conditions has been widely recognized (USINFO, 2004). Furthermore, the emergence of the Chinese middle class gives way to the development of a very attractive and large market (Wang et al., 2004). However, the earlier attempts to enter the Chinese market reveal that various multinational corporations (MNCs) have not fully gained adequate knowledge of the population. Their generalisations have underestimated Chinese consumers by treating them as a homogeneous group (Jagersma & Van Gorp, 2003). In reality, China's unique political andsocial environment creates a very fragmented market with the existence of various segments (Wang et al., 2004). 1.2 Research Aim and Objectives Based on the findings of the study, the researcher will attempt to draw recommendations for NEXT PLC on its entry and expansion to the Chinese market. Several objectives are set to support the research process: Define and investigate present and future key environmental factors present in the Chinese market which are likely to affect the performance and success of NEXT Plc should it decide to operate in the geographic region; Assess the financial and strategic capability of NEXT Plc to expand in the new market; Evaluate alternatives for the successful market expansion and identify main issues involved; and Recommend the best option

Five years ago,I was living in Havre and going to high school. I didnt have to work because my parents supported me. I went to school everyday and spent time with my friends. I babysat my nieces everyday after school because both of my parents were working at the time. I had the responsibility of feeding them and making sure nothing happened to them while I was watching them. I didnt really have any major goals five years ago. I wasnt really thinking about my future quite yet. On the other hand, now I live in Great Falls and Im not in high school anymore. I have to work now in order to support myself. I only work twenty hours a week because Im in school right now. I have a lot more responsibility now than I did five years ago. I have to take responsibility for myself now and everything that I do. I have a lot of major goals now. For instance, I want to graduate and get my two year degree. I want to come back and get a bachelors degree. I have a lot of things that I want to accomplish now. Five years ago, I really wasnt going anywhere with my life, but now Im starting to get my life in order and deciding what I want to do. In addition,I am still living at home with my parents and I still go to school. I still baby sit my nieces every once in a while. I find time to spend with my family and friends. I still have some of the same responsibilities. I help my mom take care of my oldest niece. She has always lived with us, so Ive always helped take care of her ever since she was a baby. Even though she is not a baby anymore,I still have to baby sit her when my parents are gone because she is not quite old enough to stay by herself yet. I still have to depend on my parents for transportation because I dont have a vehicle right now. My life now has changed a lot in only five years. ~Â © 2005 Brandy Doney~ My Brothers There are many differences and likenesses between my two brothers. Glenn, my eldest brother, was very rebellious as a teenager. For example, he would go out drinking all night with his buddies, and was always looking for trouble. Eric, whom is older then me, but younger than Glenn, was not rebellious as a teenager. A couple of examples are the fact that Eric always put his academics ahead of everything and stayed out of trouble. Glenn did not attend college, but pursued a career in the military. Where as Eric did attend college, became a pharmacist, and is in the Army National Guard. They are both religious, but Glenn is a Catholic who speaks with anyone and everyone about his religion, and Eric is a Christian who lets you believe what you believe. Glenn is a very manly person. He hides his emotions, is very handy around the house, and runs his family in the military style. Eric is a semi-feminine person. He shows his emotions, hires someone else to fix things around the house, and d oes not run his home in the military life style. Glenn is overly protective of his family. Eric is protective, but not overly protective of his family. Both Glenn and Eric have a wonderful sense of humor. There is never a dull moment when they are in the same room. Another likeness is that they both have served time in Iraq. They went over to Iraq within one month of each other, and are coming home within one or two months of each other. It has been very difficult for our family having the only two boys in Iraq. Glenn and Eric are both married to their high school sweethearts, and have had large families. Glenn has three boys, and one girl. Eric has three girls. Lastly, they both own beautiful homes that are comfortable for their family sizes. My brothers are very different, yet similar. ~Â © 2005 Kelly Deck~ Phones Although cell phones and regular phones have the same purpose and they both work the same, they have many differences as well. For example a cell phone has to have at least six service bars in order to talk an dthe battery has to have a charge before it will work. The battery needs to charge for about an hour but it depends on what kind of charger you use. The charger that comes with the cell phone doesnt take as long to charge the phone as chargers purchased over the counter. A hard wired phone, one that has to be installed through wiring within your home, can be used anywhere in your home and is maintained by telephone servicemen. some of hard wired phones are cordless, which means they can be used throughout the home and even in the yard. You cant take your hard wired phone with you in your vehicle because service is limited to just a short range. A cordless phone has to be returned to its base periodically to be recharged. With your cell phone, someone can leave you a message an dyou can get it right on the phone where as on a home phone, you have to have an answering machine. Although they have many differences, they also have some similarities. They both have to be charged in order to keep the battery full an dthe phone working. You can use both to make an drecieve a call. They also both ring t tell you that you have an incomming call. A cell phone can be programed for special rings but a hard wired phone has only one ring tone. Cell phones are much smaller in apperance than a hard wired phone. Cell phones may have different apperences and gadgets but they both serve the same purpose. ~(c)2005 Laura White~ Compare Contrast: Errors

Melting Pot of America Migrations As Population grew during the Paleolithic period, people wanted more space to live a roam about. Since they didn’t have a stable place to live, they were always moving and finding better places. Evidence indicates that the first peoples to migrate into America, coming from northeastern Siberia into Alaska (the Bering Straits), were carrying stone tools during Paleolithic period. They lived in groups of about 100. They used skin tents for shelter. They were nomadic, moving camp several times each year to take advantage of seasonal sources of food. Groups gathered a couple times a year to trade and gather valuable information that could be obtained about new sources of food or raw materials. It led families to move into new territory, eventually into Alaska and then farther south into the Americas. Evidence from the study of Native American languages, and materials, suggest that these earliest migrations may have taken place around 30,000 years ago. Bone tools, founded in Canada , have been discovered that have been radiocarbon-dated to 22,000 BC. Early Population It is estimated that at the time of first European contact, North and South America was inhabited by more than 90 million people: about 10 million in America north of present- day Mexico; 30 million in Mexico; 11 million in Central America; 445,000 in the Caribbean islands; 30 million in the South American Andean region; and 9 million in the remainder of South America. These population figures are a rough estimate (some authorities cite much lower figures); exact figures are impossible to ascertain. When colonists began keeping records, the Native American populations had been drastically reduced by war, famine, forced labor, and epidemics of diseases introduced through contact with Europeans. Europeans reactions Early Europeans were welcomed by the Native Americans to America. Native Americans viewed the visitors in amazement because of their clothing, ships, their technology (steel knives and swords, guns, mirrors, kettles) and other items unusual to the way of life of Native Americans. The ultimate goal for the Europeans was God, Gold, Glory, and it is because of this that ruined the good relationship between Europeans and the Natives. In the end the Europeans would overpower the Natives and would ultimately take their gold, have their glory, and make them believe in their god. Religion Most Native Americans believe that in the universe there exists an Almighty.
